世界人口增长的趋势
联合国报告指出，未来15年全球人口将增加11亿，从目前的73亿人口上升到2030年的84亿。除了欧洲之外，所有地区的城市人口预计将增加15%。
联合国纽约总部日前召开联合国人口与发展委员会第48次会议，联合国负责经济和社会事务的副秘书长吴红波在会议上宣读了潘基文为会议准备的报告。
报告显示，在未来15年，全球新增的11亿人口大多集中在城市。
20亿孩童入学
潘基文称：“目前，全球超过一半的人口在城市里生活，而在未来15年里这比率将会攀升，这增加了进一步提高城市化和克服这趋势带来的难题的急迫性。”
报告也指出，在未来的15年，全球将约有20亿孩童达到入学年龄，而全球老年人人口比率也将从2015年的12%，上升到2030年的16%。
对此，潘基文表示，联合国必须加强教育，确保他们能够获得性和生育保健福利。
此外，联合国必须为他们创造更多的体面工作。
潘基文表示，国际社会将制定一套可持续发展的目标，而一些重要因素尤其在全球老年人和孩童之间比例的变化、全球城市化和移民方面将会对这些目标造成影响。
他也吁请世界各国在2015年实现全球转型的变革中“不落下任何一位”。
